Following up on our Retreat

0
0

What an amazing weekend of learning and stretching, of worship and pushing the edges of our faith journey, of dancing and singing and becoming a community together. We encourage you to think of how we might best continue with some of the rich momentum we developed and how you might want to stay in touch with those who were a part of lives for this occasion but who do live at a distance. Our doors at UTC are always open. Personal invitations coming from students, to join us for an occasion, are one of the most powerful ways of letting others know that we miss them. And for those of us who are here in Montreal, our commitment to being together for some set occasions every month is a big part of what binds us together.

Thank you all for making the time in your lives for our retreat that we might be in the same space and discover the people with whom we are invited to study and grow this year.

Chapeau to a very fine group of spouses and partners who as some serious theological leadership to offer the rest of us!

Doctor of Divinity and Companion Nominations

0
0

The beginning of the new year is the ideal time to start thinking of potential candidates for the the honourary degree of Doctor of Divinity. Around this time a year, members of the Board of Governors of UTC are invited to submit nominations for this honourary degree to be bestowed by UTC at the spring convocation. The degree is a public honoring of an individual who has made significant contribution to community and church and who has, in short, made a difference. UTC has maintained a tradition of recognizing those who are not necessarily in the forefront of public attention, but whose contributions are no less significant. It may be helpful to remember this when considering your nomination(s).

Please click here to find the guidelines by which the DD committee will function in its review of submitted nominations.
